New PAC Theatre name signals growth for the organization
PLVCT, a local community theatre founded in 2006, announced today that it has changed its name to Papillion Area Community Theatre, or PAC Theatre. The organization’s original name reflected its founders’ close ties to the Papillion-La Vista School district. While the group still enjoys a warm relationship with the district, the time was right for a new name that signals the growth the organization has experienced.
PAC Theatre announced this past July that it was one of the founding organizations of the Papillion Arts Foundation, a collaborative network of local arts nonprofit groups. “With our long history of shows being produced at SumTur in Papillion and now this involvement with PAF, a name change started to make more sense,” said Celeste Pille, President of the PAC Theatre. “Papillion Area Community Theatre not only points to our roots here in Papillion, but better reflects how we’ve grown to share arts opportunities with all our Sarpy County neighbors, the Omaha area, and beyond.”
The organization looks forward to continuing its long history of producing quality, unique live theater experiences that are accessible to all audiences. Their annual summer musical productions are performed in July at SumTur Amphitheater. PAC Theatre will next take part in Papillion Arts Foundation’s inaugural gala event on February 24th at Papillion Landing.
